Tor Coatings conducted a site survey to thoroughly test the existing substrate and ensure any recommended system was fully compatible. This project required extensive preparation to the existing surfaces to a standard that will optimise the finish.

Unicover Ultra S 20 year system was specified with an independent 10 year insurance backed warranty. The scope of work was to thoroughly clean all roof panels, remove any loose coatings, prime all bare metal surfaces with RC145 Metal Primer and then apply 3 coats of the Unicover Topcoat.

MJB Decorators Ltd were contracted to complete this project, with site support from the Tor sales and technical service team. Before installation the roof was given a deep clean using brushes and other cleaning equipment. All bare metals were then primed using RC145 METAL Primer. The building is located in the centre of a busy roundabout so access in some areas was only possible via MEWP and extra precautions had to be taken to avoid paint damaging cars. The roof is also a hot spot for local bird life so workers needed to be careful not to cause harm to the birds.

The Unicover system provides flexible, durable, long-lasting protection for up to 10 years before first full maintenance. During this period, we will carry out a 1-year inspection and then a scheduled inspection every 5 years to ensure that the performance is delivered for the client.
