Before the correct coating system could be specified, Tor Coatings carried out a comprehensive free survey of the site to ensure every aspect of the project was clearly understood and all defects were documented thoroughly.

Elastaseal Z Warm Roof was selected as this solution provides long-term waterproofing and a thermal upgrade to comply with building regulations Part L. We also specified 130mm square edge tissue faced PIR boards to meet the client’s U-value requirement.

Installation was carried out by the T&D Group. Once the existing waterproofing and insulation were stripped due to water ingress, the TorVap self adhesive Vapour Control layer was installed and the Foaming Insulation Adhesive was used to secure the new insulation boards. TorVap was then used as a carrier membrane, prior to the Elastaseal Z system being installed.

The roof will be inspected at 12 months after completion, and then every 5 years after that.
