Tor Coatings conducted a site survey which involved thoroughly testing the existing substrate to ensure any recommended system was fully compatible. The survey identified that the exterior cladding coating of this industrial unit was around 20 years old and had reached the end of its natural life cycle. The cladding had started to fade and flake back to bare substrate and required aesthetic refurbishment. This caused the unsightly unit to appear run down and neglected.

Unicover S was evaluated as the best solution to give the units a new lease of life and improve the overall appearance of the area. A lighter colour was recommended to give better light reflection to aid in heat reduction during the summer months. Unicover S is a single pack, high build coating system, made from complex modified solvented acrylic which gives it excellent weathering properties and allows it to withstand panel flexing without cracking along profile lines. This is guaranteed to protect the cladding for at least 10 years before first major maintenance.

The project was carried out by F D Farrell Roofing Ltd, a local Bedfordshire company, with site support from the Tor sales and technical service team.

In addition to the comfort of having a 25 year BBA accreditation, the project is covered by a 10-year guarantee before first major maintenance. During this period, we will continue to carry out regular scheduled inspections to ensure that the performance is delivered for the client.
