Before the correct coating system could be specified, Tor Coatings carried out a comprehensive free survey of the site to ensure every aspect of the project was clearly understood and all defects were documented thoroughly.

The hybrid roof structure, incorporating a balcony area and sloping areas, presented complexities regarding drainage. To address this we developed a new tapered insulation scheme to facilitate effective water runoff. Elastaseal Z was specified for the new waterproofing solution, its ease of application and low-odour minimised disruption to residents during installation.

Installation was carried out by Capital Roofing Co Ltd. The team conducted a full roof strip and redesigned the insulation and terminations of the roof system, installing a new tapered insulation scheme before applying Elastaseal Z.

The Elastaseal Z system provides long-lasting protection for up to 20 years. An annual inspection will be carried out initially followed by inspections every 5 years to ensure the warranty remains valid.
